Disclaimers & Terms

The Hash Eating Project (HEP) exists to help people build a calmer, more honest relationship with food and their bodies.

Before you use this site, the scorecard, the eBook, the blog, or any HEP tool,

please read this page.

It explains what HEP is, what it isn't, and what you're agreeing to by being here.

1. Not Medical Advice

HEP is an educational and reflective food-tracking project. It is not a medical service, and nothing on this site, in the eBook, in the scorecard, or in blog posts is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, including Hashimoto's thyroiditis or any other autoimmune, endocrine, or medical condition.

The Hash and WL scoring system reflects general, food-quality-based observations — anti-inflammatory load, selenium delivery, gut lining support, blood sugar stability, protein distribution, and micronutrient density. These scores are educational reference points, not clinical assessments, and they are not a substitute for lab work, imaging, or a diagnosis from a licensed provider.

If something in your body feels seriously wrong, HEP is not the place to sort that out.

Please contact your physician, endocrinologist, or another qualified healthcare provider.

2. Who Should Talk to a Doctor First

Please check with a licensed healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, supplements, or health routine — and especially before following HEP if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have a diagnosed autoimmune, thyroid, kidney, liver, or metabolic condition

  • Take prescription medication, especially thyroid medication, blood thinners, or medication affected by food timing

  • Have a history of disordered eating

  • Are under 18

  • Have any known food allergy, including tree nut allergies — HEP protocols reference Brazil nuts, almonds, pecans, and other tree nuts

HEP content is written from one founder's personal healing journey and general nutrition-science principles. It is not personalized medical guidance for your specific body, labs, or diagnosis.

3. How the Scoring System Works

HEP's Hash and WL scores are HEP's own proprietary framework, built from publicly available nutrition science and the founder's lived experience managing Hashimoto's. They are directional, not diagnostic. A high score means a food or day appears supportive, steady, and protein-anchored based on HEP's criteria — it is not a guarantee of how your individual body will respond.

Food is data, not a verdict. Scores are meant to build awareness and pattern recognition over time, not to create pressure, guilt, or rigid rules around eating.

4. No Guaranteed Results

Any results mentioned on this site, in testimonials, or in the founder's own story — including weight change, symptom change, or energy change — are individual experiences. They are not typical or guaranteed outcomes, and your results will depend on your own body, history, diagnosis, adherence, and medical care. HEP makes no promise that following this framework will treat, reduce, or resolve any symptom or condition.

5. Assumption of Risk

By using HEP's website, scorecard, eBook, workbook, or blog, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily choosing to apply this information to your own life, and you assume full responsibility for that choice. The Hash Eating Project, its founders, and any contributors are not liable for any outcome, symptom, reaction, or result connected to your use of this content.

6. Intellectual Property

The Hash and WL scoring framework, the six healing markers, HEP's written content, recipes, worksheets, and brand materials are the original work of The Hash Eating Project and may not be copied, resold, or redistributed without written permission. You're welcome to share links to HEP content and to talk about your own experience using it.

7. Privacy & Your Data

If you sign up for the HEP email list or download the free scorecard, we collect only what's needed to provide that (such as your email address) and to communicate with you about HEP. We do not sell your personal data. You can unsubscribe at any time.

8. Changes to This Page

HEP may update this Disclaimer & Terms of Use as the project grows — including when new features or tools are introduced. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Continuing to use HEP after an update means you accept the current version.

9. Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you want to talk through whether HEP is a good fit for your situation before diving in, reach out through the contact link on the website. That's what the free access promise is for — direct access to a real person, not a wall.

Truth. Not perfection | Data. Not spiraling | Progress. Not punishment.
